Cytosystems has appointed a distinguished Scientific Advisory Board for MCM to guide and validate the rapid development pathway of this innovative new cancer diagnostic technology.
The Scientific Advisory Board currently (2009) comprises:
Professor Ron Laskey
Joint Director of the Medical Research Council’s Cancer Cell Unit and The Charles Darwin Professor of Embryology in Cambridge University. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society, the Academy of Medical Sciences and Academia Europaea and a former President of the British Society for Cell Biology.
Dr Nick Coleman
Also of the Medical Research Council’s Cancer Cell Unit at Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge University Hospitals. Professor Laskey and Dr Coleman are co-inventors of the Mini-Chromosome Maintenance (MCM) technology which has been developed over the last decade for diagnostic tests in cervical and other epithelial cancers. Their pioneering work represents the largest single investment made to date by the Medical Research Council in one centre.
Professor David Neal
Chair of Surgical Oncology at the University of Cambridge and Honorary Consultant Urologist. Professor Neal has extensive research interests in clinical trials in urological cancer and has a personal programme grant from Cancer Research UK.
Sir Graeme Catto
Former President of the General Medical Council and Professor of Medicine at the University of Aberdeen. Sir Graeme is an honorary consultant physician with an interest in renal medicine and has published widely on different aspects of nephrology and immunology. He was formerly Chief Scientist at the Scottish Executive Health Department.
